NAME
displayrc —
startup graphical applications
SYNOPSIS
~/.displayrc |
/etc/displayrc |
/etc/default/displayrc |
DESCRIPTION
display(1) runs
the displayrc script to launch the user's startup
applications and prepare the desktop environment according to the user's
preferences.
display(1)
continues running after displayrc finishes running
and any launched applications should be run as background processes.
The displayrc script is found by searching
for an executable script in the following paths:
- ~/.displayrc
- /etc/displayrc
- /etc/default/displayrc
displayrc is not executed if no script is
found.
ENVIRONMENT
displayrc is executed with the following
environment:
DISPLAY_SOCKET- The path of the unix(4) socket where display(1) is listening for connections from applications.
FILES
- ~/.displayrc
- The user's
displayrcscript. - /etc/displayrc
- The system administrator provided
displayrcscript. - /etc/default/displayrc
- The operating system provided
displayrcscript.
EXAMPLES
Launch a terminal with a text editor, another terminal with the user's default shell, and launch the asteroids game.
